Mr. Patrick John “Pokey” Ruedisale, age 61, of Hart, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, following a long illness. He was born December 28, 1949, in Lansing to Herbert and Betty (Fisher) Ruedisale. He married Janice Sexson in Lansing on August 5, 1977. He was an oil field technician employed at Wenner Petroleum. He also worked at Metalworks in Ludington in the powder coat department and was an avid bowler at Oceana Eagles.
Patrick (Pokey) was a lover of life and his family was a #1 priority in his life. Every year for 25 years he would have his family come to Pentwater for “Homecoming Weekend” (“a Ruedisale Family Reunion”). He was always willing to help his family and friends. He always had a great sense of humor through the good times and the bad. He was known as being the “King of Nicknames”. He was admired by his nieces and nephews and touched their hearts in so many ways. He will be deeply missed by all of them. “Uncle Pokey, you are the Best.” He will also be missed by many of his longtime childhood friends.
Mr. Ruedisale is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janice Ruedisale; siblings, Michael (Marjory) Ruedisale of Ann Arbor, Mary Kay (Ed) Hallas of Lansing, Margaret (Edward) Spagnuolo of Grand Ledge, Marsha (Bobby) Crim of Grand Ledge, Lewis Ruedisale of Lansing, Wally Ruedisale of Lansing, Theresa (Kirby) Albright of Lansing, Herbie (Michele) Ruedisale of Lansing, numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Sharon Sexson of Lansing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Betty Ruedisale, in-laws, John and Marilyn Sexson, and his brother-in-law, James Sexson.
A private family service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at King Funeral Home with Fr. Phil Sliwinski officiating. Interment will be at the South Weare Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
